If the painting works, it itself makes clear whatever intention it holds. Painting is an opportunity to exist outside of everything else, in that it creates an illimitable space where one is allowed to simply exist, just be. Words, being their own distinctive form of expression, can tend to interpose with paintings. The titles act more as companion pieces to the works. They are not descriptions but rather guide posts, subtle nudges to the viewer in a nonspecific general direction. It is more of a poetic association. Questions about meaning are ultimately barriers to experiencing the painting. Painting is not a rational activity.
